There have been heated discussions concerning the upcoming election, April 11-15, where the fate of the unionization of the University of Minnesota will be chosen. GradTRAC, the organization who tries to put RA's and TA's under a union, has approached me personally couple of times. Other anti-union people have also approached me, with various arguments. Both sides have interesting things to say, and I participated it various "heated" (as I stated earlier) discussion about this effort. While all of us have our personal opinion, we should seriously consider all possible options, and read all the facts before we decide, and therefore, vote pro or against the union.
I enclose those sites for further information.
All feedback in this matter would not only be interesting, but crucial for our academic future. So?. Go ahead and write down what you have to say!

A General Assembly of the HSA will take place on Friday, April, 8, at 6:30pm at Amundson Hall.
Among the various subjects, the final arrangements for the Easter celebration will be discussed.
Cassandra has recently mentioned a greek film being part of the Minneapolis International film festival schedule. The name of the film is "Alemaya", and it will played on April 9 at the Oak street theatre and on April 10th at the Block E theatre.
More information about the film festival can be found in the website http://mnfilmarts.org/m-spiff/2005/
Thanks Cassandra!
Last Friday, March 25, the Hellenic Student Association organized a party, to celebrate the Anniversary of the Greek Declaration of Independence. The party took place at Steak Knife in Dinkytown. There were lots of appetizers and plenty of drinks. The oven roasted lamp was not delivered on time, but this small mishap did not put in ?bleu? the participants of the party. Quite the contrary, the more the time passed, the more exciting they were!
We would like to thank the 2 student groups who performed Greek music throughout the event: Dimitris the doctor and his friend (also a doctor, whose name is currently unknown), Yiannis the ?rebetico? performer, Vangelis the accordion player, Nikos and Bassilis the ?rebetico? supporters. Finally but not least, we would like to thank Tony, the owner of Steak Knife, who kindly provided his restaurant for the event, along with most of the appetizers.
The party was a big success! Lets hope that with your support, the HSA will organize future events which will show our culture to the UMN community, and allow us, the HSA members ? to have a good time (as we always had!)
Photos from the event are coming soon!
Cheers!

Everyone is welcome to comment on the petition through this blog. Please let us know about your opinions.
